RE: Advice from dog owners

Hi all, (LOOK BELOW FOR CONTACT INFO)
A friend has taken in her dad's dog, as her dad has moved into an assisted
living facility that doesn't take pets.
Duke is a 5-year-old Lhasa Apso. He is a loving, sweet charmer, who is
looking for a permanent home. Duke loves to be held and will happily sit in
someone's lap most of the day.
My friend is unable to keep Duke because he can be a bit nippy around her
kids, who often forget that he doesn't like his butt pushed or his belly
rubbed too far down. So a home with "mature/trainable" children, or no
children, is being sought (my friend has 12-year-old twins).
The best environment for Duke would be one in which the people are there a
lot (or have a dog door), and like having a dog in their laps most of the
time. Duke seems happiest when there are other dogs around, so a home with
a dog already would work out just fine.
Last but not least, Duke has recently had some training classes and he can
do sit/stay really well.
Please feel free to contact my friend, Chris, directly, if you are
interested in possibly adopting Duke. She can be reached at: 925-938-5589
or 925-330-1647.
Please also feel free to forward this email on to anyone you know who might
be interested in becoming Duke's new parent. Having met him myself, I have
to say that Duke is a real sweetie and I'm hoping that someone out there in
WIC wants to bring him home.
